Selection finally depends on the written exam, the medical examination and document verification. A candidate should apply for only one class, as multiple forms can lead to rejection.
AISSEE 2027 application fee and how to apply
The public notice confirms the late fee of Rs. 500 but not the base fee. Last year (AISSEE 2026) the fee was Rs. 850 for General, defence wards and OBC (NCL), and Rs. 700 for SC/ST. Check the 2027 bulletin for the exact amount.

How to apply online
- Visit exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society and read the Information Bulletin.
- Register with a unique email ID and mobile number.
- Fill in the application form carefully with the candidate’s details and choose Class 6 or Class 9.
- Upload the photograph, signature and any certificate asked for, in the size and format given.
- Pay the fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
- Download and save the confirmation page.
The application is valid only after successful payment. Use the correction window of 7 to 9 December 2026 to fix mistakes.
AISSEE 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme
Both papers are MCQ-based, OMR sheet based and have no negative marking, as in recent years. Class 6 has 125 questions for 300 marks, and Class 9 has 150 questions for 400 marks.

In recent years candidates needed at least 25% in each section and 40% overall to qualify. The earlier exam ran from 2:00 PM, so check your admit card on 25 January 2027 for the 2027 reporting time.
AISSEE 2027 syllabus for Class 9
The Class 9 paper is set at Class 8 level and is in English only. Mathematics carries half of the total marks (200 of 400), so it decides most results.

The NTA announces the exam city on 11 January 2027, and the admit card is available on the NTA website from 25 January 2027. Carry a printed admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre.

AISSEE 2027 preparation tips
From the notice date of 3 November 2026 to the exam on 31 January 2027 there are 89 days, which is enough time if the plan is steady.
- Start with Mathematics. It carries 150 of 300 marks in Class 6 and 200 of 400 in Class 9. Practise a set of questions daily.
- Follow NCERT. Use Class 5 books for the Class 6 exam and Class 8 books for the Class 9 exam.
- Solve previous year papers. Do at least one full paper a week in the real time limit (150 or 180 minutes).
- Practise on an OMR sheet. Shading bubbles fast and without mistakes saves minutes.
- Attempt every question. There is no negative marking, so never leave an answer blank.
- Build General Knowledge daily. Read a short news summary and revise states, capitals, awards and important days.
- Meet the sectional cut-off. A very low score in one section can disqualify a good overall score.
- Look after fitness. Sainik Schools also test medical fitness, so keep a regular routine of sleep and exercise.
