Overview
The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi, has invited applications from meritorious sportspersons for three posts under the Sports Quota in the Income Tax Department, Delhi Region. There are 119 vacancies in total across 27 sports and disciplines (67 for men, 52 for women). The number of vacancies is tentative and may change.

Age relaxation: Up to 5 years for meritorious sportspersons, and up to 10 years for SC/ST candidates, provided all education and sports conditions are met and the prescribed certificate is furnished.
The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent. The probation period is two years.
Educational Qualification (as on 31.08.2026)
- Tax Assistant: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent. After appointment, a skill test with a data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour must be passed.
- Stenographer Grade II: 12th pass from a recognised board or equivalent. After appointment, a stenography skill test must be passed (dictation of 10 minutes at 80 words per minute; transcription in 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi, on computer).
- Multi-Tasking Staff: 10th pass from a recognised board or equivalent.
Those awaiting final exam results need not apply.
Sports Eligibility (Order of Preference)
Selection considers sporting achievements between 01.01.2020 and 15.10.2026, consistency of performance, age and education.
- Represented India in an international competition with clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Represented a State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships (recognised National Sports Federations) or National Games (Indian Olympic Association) and won a medal or position up to 3rd place. Senior-level participants get preference over Junior.
- Represented a University in an inter-university competition (AIU / Inter University Sports Board / Khelo India University Games) and won a medal or position up to 3rd place in finals.
- Represented a State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games or Khelo India Para Games, with a medal or position up to 3rd place in finals.
- Represented State Schools in National Sports/Games for Schools (All-India School Games Federation) and won a medal or position up to 3rd place.
- Represented a State/UT/University/State Schools team at the levels in categories 2 to 5 but did not win a medal or position.
In case of doubt about a tournament’s status, it will be decided in consultation with DoPT and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Only certificates issued by the competent authorities, in the prescribed form (Annexure II), will be accepted.

Each certificate is valid only when personally signed by the authority named above.
Documents to Upload

- Caste certificate in the prescribed format (SC/ST candidates claiming age relaxation, Annexure III)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer, if currently in government, PSU or quasi-government service
Certificates in any format other than the prescribed one will not be accepted, and such applications can be rejected summarily.
Key Instructions
- Submit only one application; you may apply for more than one post in it. Multiple applications lead to rejection of all.
- Clearly indicate your order of preference of posts. You will not be considered for posts you did not opt for.
- No posts are reserved for SC, ST, OBC or EWS; the caste certificate is needed only for age relaxation.
- Use the Preview/Print option to check every field before final submission.
- You must be clear in all anti-doping tests (WADA/NADA), with no ongoing doping investigation, and must give a declaration to that effect.
- Selected candidates will be posted in the Delhi region only, must represent the Income Tax Department, Delhi Region in tournaments for at least 10 years, and must give an undertaking not to seek inter-charge or loan transfer for 10 years. Participation in meets is also a factor in confirming probation.
- Original documents must be produced at document verification, and no TA/DA is paid.
- Canvassing in any form leads to rejection.
- Primary correspondence and call letters are sent by e-mail only.
Common Reasons for Rejection
- Missing signature, or a signature in all capital letters or spaced-out letters
- No colour photo, or a photo with a cap or goggles, or an unclear or photocopied photo
- Not having the required education or sports achievement on the cut-off date, or certificates not in the prescribed format
- Over-age or under-age, or date of birth missing or wrong
- Name appearing in another commission’s or board’s debarred list
- Doping charges
- Any other irregularity
Beware of Agents
The department warns that no one can influence or guarantee recruitment. Anyone who demands money in the name of recruitment is making false claims. Apply only through the official website.

आयु में छूट: मेधावी खिलाड़ियों को अधिकतम 5 वर्ष तथा SC/ST अभ्यर्थियों को अधिकतम 10 वर्ष की छूट मिल सकती है, बशर्ते शैक्षिक एवं खेल संबंधी सभी शर्तें पूरी हों और निर्धारित प्रमाण-पत्र प्रस्तुत किया जाए।
ये पद अस्थायी हैं, लेकिन स्थायी होने की संभावना है। परिवीक्षा अवधि दो वर्ष की है।
शैक्षिक योग्यता (31.08.2026 तक)
- टैक्स असिस्टेंट: मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से स्नातक की डिग्री या समकक्ष। नियुक्ति के बाद 8,000 की-डिप्रेशन प्रति घंटा की डेटा एंट्री गति वाला स्किल टेस्ट पास करना होगा।
- स्टेनोग्राफर ग्रेड-II: मान्यता प्राप्त बोर्ड से 12वीं पास या समकक्ष। नियुक्ति के बाद स्टेनोग्राफी स्किल टेस्ट पास करना होगा (10 मिनट का डिक्टेशन, 80 शब्द प्रति मिनट; ट्रांसक्रिप्शन अंग्रेजी में 50 मिनट या हिंदी में 65 मिनट, कंप्यूटर पर)।
- मल्टी-टास्किंग स्टाफ: मान्यता प्राप्त बोर्ड से 10वीं पास या समकक्ष।
जो अभ्यर्थी अंतिम परीक्षा के परिणाम की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं, उन्हें आवेदन करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
खेल पात्रता (प्राथमिकता क्रम में)
चयन में 01.01.2020 से 15.10.2026 के बीच की खेल उपलब्धियों, प्रदर्शन में निरंतरता, आयु और शैक्षिक योग्यता को देखा जाएगा।
- खेल एवं युवा कार्य मंत्रालय के खेल विभाग की अनुमति से किसी अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिता में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया हो।
- वरिष्ठ या जूनियर राष्ट्रीय चैंपियनशिप (मान्यता प्राप्त राष्ट्रीय खेल महासंघ) या राष्ट्रीय खेल (भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ) में किसी राज्य/केंद्र शासित प्रदेश का प्रतिनिधित्व कर पदक या तीसरे स्थान तक की position जीती हो। वरिष्ठ स्तर के प्रतिभागियों को जूनियर पर प्राथमिकता मिलेगी।
- अंतर-विश्वविद्यालय प्रतियोगिता (AIU / इंटर यूनिवर्सिटी स्पोर्ट्स बोर्ड / खेलो इंडिया यूनिवर्सिटी गेम्स) में विश्वविद्यालय का प्रतिनिधित्व कर फाइनल में पदक या तीसरे स्थान तक की position जीती हो।
- खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स (18 वर्ष से ऊपर आयु वर्ग), खेलो इंडिया विंटर गेम्स या खेलो इंडिया पैरा गेम्स में राज्य/केंद्र शासित प्रदेश का प्रतिनिधित्व कर फाइनल में पदक या तीसरे स्थान तक की position जीती हो।
- अखिल भारतीय स्कूल गेम्स महासंघ द्वारा आयोजित राष्ट्रीय स्कूल खेलों में राज्य के स्कूलों का प्रतिनिधित्व कर पदक या तीसरे स्थान तक की position जीती हो।
- श्रेणी 2 से 5 के स्तर पर राज्य/केंद्र शासित प्रदेश/विश्वविद्यालय/राज्य स्कूल टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व किया हो, लेकिन कोई पदक या position न जीती हो।
किसी टूर्नामेंट की स्थिति के बारे में संदेह होने पर निर्णय DoPT और खेल एवं युवा कार्य मंत्रालय से परामर्श करके लिया जाएगा।

रिक्तियां अनुमानित हैं। यदि किसी खेल में पात्र अभ्यर्थी उपलब्ध नहीं होते, तो समिति कुल रिक्तियों की संख्या के भीतर रहते हुए खाली पदों को अन्य सूचीबद्ध खेलों में पुनः आवंटित कर सकती है। आवेदन करने से नियुक्ति का कोई अधिकार नहीं मिलता।

प्रत्येक प्रमाण-पत्र तभी मान्य होगा जब उस पर उपरोक्त अधिकारी के व्यक्तिगत हस्ताक्षर हों।

- नियोक्ता से अनापत्ति प्रमाण-पत्र (NOC), यदि आप वर्तमान में सरकारी, PSU या अर्ध-सरकारी सेवा में हैं
निर्धारित प्रारूप से भिन्न किसी भी प्रारूप में प्रमाण-पत्र स्वीकार नहीं किए जाएंगे और ऐसे आवेदन सीधे निरस्त किए जा सकते हैं।
मुख्य निर्देश
- केवल एक आवेदन जमा करें; उसी में एक से अधिक पदों के लिए आवेदन किया जा सकता है। एक से अधिक आवेदन देने पर सभी निरस्त कर दिए जाएंगे।
- पदों की प्राथमिकता का क्रम स्पष्ट रूप से लिखें। जिन पदों के लिए आपने विकल्प नहीं दिया, उनके लिए विचार नहीं किया जाएगा।
- SC, ST, OBC और EWS के लिए कोई पद आरक्षित नहीं है; जाति प्रमाण-पत्र केवल आयु छूट के लिए आवश्यक है।
- अंतिम जमा करने से पहले Preview/Print विकल्प से हर फील्ड की जांच अवश्य करें।
- सभी डोपिंग परीक्षणों (WADA/NADA) में आप क्लीन होने चाहिए, डोपिंग की कोई जांच लंबित नहीं होनी चाहिए, और इस आशय की घोषणा देनी होगी।
- चयनित अभ्यर्थी केवल दिल्ली क्षेत्र में तैनात होंगे, कम से कम 10 वर्ष तक टूर्नामेंटों में आयकर विभाग, दिल्ली क्षेत्र का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगे, और 10 वर्ष तक अंतर-प्रभार या ऋण आधार पर स्थानांतरण न मांगने का वचन देंगे। परिवीक्षा की पुष्टि में टूर्नामेंटों में भागीदारी भी एक कारक होगी।
- दस्तावेज़ सत्यापन के समय मूल दस्तावेज़ प्रस्तुत करने होंगे; कोई TA/DA नहीं दिया जाएगा।
- किसी भी प्रकार की सिफारिश या दबाव (कैनवासिंग) पर आवेदन निरस्त हो जाएगा।
- मुख्य पत्राचार और कॉल लेटर केवल ई-मेल से भेजे जाएंगे।
आवेदन निरस्त होने के सामान्य कारण
- हस्ताक्षर न होना, या हस्ताक्षर सभी बड़े अक्षरों (कैपिटल) में या दूर-दूर अक्षरों में होना
- रंगीन फोटो न होना, या फोटो में टोपी/चश्मा होना, या फोटो अस्पष्ट या फोटोकॉपी होना
- कट-ऑफ तिथि तक निर्धारित शैक्षिक योग्यता या खेल उपलब्धि न होना, या प्रमाण-पत्र निर्धारित प्रारूप में न होना
- आयु अधिक या कम होना, या जन्म तिथि न भरी होना या गलत भरी होना
- किसी अन्य आयोग/बोर्ड की डिबार सूची में नाम होना
- डोपिंग के आरोप
- कोई अन्य अनियमितता
दलालों से सावधान
विभाग ने चेतावनी दी है कि भर्ती के लिए कोई भी व्यक्ति प्रभाव नहीं डाल सकता और न ही गारंटी दे सकता है। भर्ती के नाम पर पैसे मांगने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति झूठे दावे कर रहा है। आवेदन केवल आधिकारिक वेबसाइट के माध्यम से ही करें।
