Overview
SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) is one of the most sought-after exams for 12th-pass candidates seeking central government jobs. It recruits for posts like Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant across ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. Based on the 2025 cycle’s 3,131 vacancies, the cycle is widely expected to offer 3,000–3,700+ vacancies.
SSC CHSL is conducted annually and remains one of the largest-scale recruitment exams in the country by applicant volume, given how broadly available the eligibility (12th pass) is. It follows a two-tier selection process, unlike SSC MTS’s single-paper format, and includes a mandatory typing or skill test depending on the post applied for.
